What is the 10to4 Mountain Bike Challenge?
This is one of the best-kept secrets on Africa’s adventure tourism calendar, with courses for all abilities. Raising money for Mount Kenya Trust, riders start at an altitude of 10,000ft and drop through alpine moorlands, forests, and game-filled plains to end on a private wildlife conservancy at 4,000ft. For those with other interests the 10to4 also offers the Altitude Horse Ride, for participants to ride with family and friends alongside wildlife and the Chase, a 21km run, that takes place through farmland, the Ngare Ndare forest and onto the Borana plains.
2019 Focus
- Less dust and more time in wilderness areas. Enjoy new routes that take you further through the forests of Mt Kenya and Ngare Ndare and give you more time on Borana conservancy
- A fun filled weekend for all the family – take this unique opportunity to camp at Borana Race Village and make the most of events and activities for the whole family
- Make a weekend of it! In addition to participating in your chosen events why not put aside time to explore the other attractions in the area, including the Ngare Ndare Forest Blue Pools
- Run! This 21km trail race gives avid runners a chance to explore the natural and varied beauty of the areas surrounding Mt Kenya by foot
- Ride! Following the success of the Altitude Horse Ride in 2018, explore the beautiful savannah of Borana Conservancy on horseback and ride as one with the wildlife
- Bike drop – once again we’ll be offering a service to get you and your bike up to the Kisima start line
- Fundraising Prizes! Including a 30-minute helicopter flight with Tropic Air around Mount Kenya for the top fundraiser, along with flight prizes to Mombassa courtesy of Fly540
