Turkish Airlines finally announces Seychelles flights

TURKISH’S WORST KEPT SECRET FINALLY OUT

(Posted 13th May 2016)

Effective 31st of October will Turkish Airlines commence operations between Istanbul and Mahe, where the Seychelles international airport is located.
From information at hand will flights TK748/9 be operating three times a week on an Airbus A330-200, offering – via Istanbul – the widest international flight network of any airline to connect to these paradise islands.
Flight TK748 leaves IST at 01.05 hours and lands on SEZ / Mahe at 10.55 hrs before the return service TK 749 leaves at 12.25 hrs and is due back in IST at 18.10 hrs the same evening.
The aircraft will reportedly be configured in a two class layout flatbed seats in Business Class and 31 – 33 inch pitch seats in Economy Class. The specific number of seats in each class will depend on the Airbus A330-200 type as Turkish operates models with various cabin layouts.
Already during this year’s Carnival International de Victoria in April did rumours sweep across the media contingent but neither Turkish nor Seychelles tourism sources were ready to confirm which airline was to come to Seychelles next, though the Turkish national carrier was swiftly identified as the one, without confirmation though.
This latest global airline selecting the Seychelles as another destination will add an estimated 750 – 800 seats each week, depending on the specific seat configuration on board the actual aircraft operating the service and with world wide connectivity no doubt increase the popularity of the islands.
