Two tourism trade fairs double the promotional output for Tanzania

MOSHI AND ARUSHA TOURISM FAIR PREPARATIONS GO INTO OVERDRIVE

(Posted 19th February 2016)

With just a hundred odd days to go to the launch of the Moshi based KILIFAIR 2016 are preparations moving into overdrive now, as do those for the Arusha based Karibu Travel Market Tanzania, which will take place a week earlier.

The two fairs will provide a perfect opportunity for exhibitors and buyers to see a wide range of tourism products on offer, with KILIFAIR in particular keen to promote the region around Moshi from where much of the Kilimanjaro climbing is organized. In between the two fairs will according to information received fam trips for hosted buyers be organized to showcase the northern circuit national parks of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Arusha, Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Serengeti.

While the Karibu organizers this year have remained unusually media shy have KILIFAIR Directors Tom Kunkler and Dominic Shoo left no opportunity go to waste, drumming up support for their exhibition at the Ushirika Stadium in Moshi town. The two hope to well exceed participation levels from last year, when the inaugural trade fair took place with 168 exhibitors, 185 visiting buyers mainly from across the Eastern African region and over 3.000 trade fair visitors.

Already have 154 exhibitors signed up for stand space, coming from Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Kenya, Zimbabwe and even India, besides those from Tanzania including Zanzibar. Buyers interest too has widened with company representatives from 25 countries already registered for the tourism fair. They will have the opportunity to interact with key stakeholders like the Tanzania Tourist Board, TANAPA, NCAA – short for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority which have booked major stands.

KILIFAIR representatives will be at the ITB Berlin 2016 to further promote Tanzania and of course drum up further support for participation in their exhibition.
