Two Ugandan entries compete for top prize in Atta’s inaugural photo competition

ATTA LAUNCHES FIRST EVER AFRICA PHOTO COMPETITION

(Posted 24th January 2014)

The London based Africa Travel and Tourism Association – membership is considered quintessential for Africa’s leading hospitality and safari businesses – has announced the launch of their first ever photographic competition, featuring eye candy highlights from across the African continent. Launched earlier this week, Atta is going the way of the social media to collect votes via this Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.604235596315169.1073741833.150557278349672&type=3

The competition is also ‘hashtagged’ via #attaphotonewyear for those who are keen enough to follow the event until the winners are finally unveiled on the 31st of January.

Notably, and a bit of home pride is surely not misplaced here, are two pictures from Uganda included in the 11 selected by Atta, featuring a boat in the delta of the River Nile near Lake Albert (by Marasa Africa) and a second one showing one of our prized gorillas submitted by Premier Safaris of Uganda.

The winner will be able to reach the global Atta audience through a specially arranged ‘Webinar’, allowing the showcasing of their destination and products, potentially giving added priceless exposure.

Said Atta when launching the competition: ‘We are, as always, aiming to fulfil our mission statement with this competition by creating a positive image of Africa and creating a greater awareness of Africa as a travel destination by hosting this competition on a social networking site. We hope to increase dialogue between the experts and the general public’.
