Uganda Airlines receives first of two wetleased B737-800’s

Uganda Airlines has taken delivery of the first of two – apparently wet leased – Boeing B737-800’s from Ethiopian Airlines.

The aircraft is however painted in full airline livery unlike previous such leases.

An airline statement read: ‘This addition strengthens our operations and enhances flexibility as we continue to deliver greater connectivity across our network.’

Like the previous wetleast of a B787 from Ethiopian Airlines does this transaction also clearly bear the fingerprints of Ato Girma Wake, who is working for Uganda Airlines as CEO until later this year a new CEO will be appointed. At that stage it is expected that Girma will then head the board of directors to continue guiding the airline in a professional way.
