#Uganda benefits from Digital Training and Business Mentorship Programme for Young Ugandan Entrepreneurs in Tourism

(Posted 07th April 2022)

Charlotte Beauvoisin, best known for her ‘Diary of a Muzungu’ tourism blog, has over the past years also more actively pursued training of Uganda’s next generation in the tourism industry.

Since lockdown conditions were lifted and meetings became possible again, has Charlotte both held directly and also participated in a number of training sessions across Uganda.

Now, more training is becoming available to young Ugandans, this time focusing on:

  • Social media marketing
  • Communications
  • Business survival through innovation
  • Pitching for financing

Wrote Charlotte to ATCNews earlier today:

I’m thrilled to be working with Tour Guides Forum Uganda TGFU and Young Tour Operators Association YUTO on this Aga Khan Foundation project, funded by the European Union.

Training will be held in May 2022 and mentorship in June 2022.

The project will also provide financial support to 10+ tourism enterprises to support their innovative ideas through a competitive pitching process. The business ideas must offer solutions to identified tourism problems in our community.

Application deadline 15th of April 2022.
