Airbus has now released a video showing how the paintwork is being applied on Uganda Airlines’ new Airbus A330-800Neo.
This aircraft is part of an order of two, with the first delivery anticipated by mid December, a Christmas present of sorts for the country.
The two wide body aircraft will be used for intercontinental flights due to commence in early 2021, with destinations presently given as China, Dubai and the UK, though others could be added.
The airline’s short and medium haul fleet of 4 CRJ900’s will be crucial to provide connecting traffic in Entebbe from the presently 8 destinations Uganda Airlines serve, including Nairobi, Mombasa, Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar, Juba, Mogadishu and Bujumbura. Flights to Johannesburg and Kinshasa, but also to Lusaka, will very likely also be launched ahead of the start of long haul destinations in order to widen the passenger base and turn long haul operations financially viable sooner rather than later.
