#Ugandans looking forward to the annual #Oktoberfest celebration in #Kampala

(Posted 23rd September 2022)

The annual Octoberfest is not just celebrated in Munich, capital of the State of Bavaria in Germany, but attracts such celebrations all over the world.

Uganda too has for a long time commemorated this uniquely German beerfestival, in the past often with imported German beer but certainly with German food specialities.

In fact is the festival of such importance to the tourism industry in not just Bavaria but the entire Germany, that national airline Lufthansa has outfitted crews and ground staff in Munich with special Bavarian styled uniforms, which are worn on over 800 flights to and from 33 destinations – and as a bonus to traveleres will Octoberfest styled meal specialities be served on those flights in First and Business Class.

For Uganda has October 01st been set to hold the 2022 celebrations, after the past two years fell victim to the Covid19 pandemic, when such events could not take place.

Venue this year will be at Munyonyo, where extensive lakefront gardens provide the space needed for the large number of visitors expected to attend the party.

Key sponsers are Brussels Airlines, the Kampala Sheraton Hotel, Pepsi Cola, Ranchers, Robertson Winery among others, no doubt making the event something special to look forward to.

Sponsoring brewery is Nile Breweries, today part of SAB Miller, with their Nile Special brand no doubt making a ‘major impact‘ on revellers, and for sure more enjoyed than the outrageous 13.80 Euros – or over 50.000 Uganda Shillings – a ‘Mass’ (one litre) of bier at the original venue in Germany will set a visitor back.
