Ugandan Port Health authorities have strengthened screening at Entebbe International Airport and all land border crossings. All incoming travelers must complete a Passenger Locator Form and undergo health screening. The Uganda-Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) border remains closed, with humanitarian and cargo exceptions. Humanitarian workers and truck drivers remain subject to mandatory screening by Port Health personnel. For updates, visit the Ministry of Health – Uganda website.
Ugandan authorities reintroduced these measures and encouraged heightened vigilance following Ebola cases reported in the region among individuals who had transited Uganda.
U.S. citizens who have been present in Uganda within 21 days of arrival in the United States must re-enter the United States through a designated U.S. airport. Foreign nationals, including U.S. lawful permanent residents, are not allowed to board flights to the United States until they have been out of Uganda for at least 21 days.
