ROUND 2 – VANILLA ISLANDS PRO AM GOLF 2018

The second leg of the Vanilla Islands Pro Am Golf 2018 began this Sunday in a calm friendly atmosphere. After exploring the course yesterday, the teams started this second day with confidence. Good performances were therefore expected.

Although the sun was taking a break today, the wind didn’t fail to spice up the game and seemed to bring a few (good) surprises, with the presence of wildlife which had, as we recall, enlivened the first edition. Some teams actually told us that they had come across dogs sunbathing in a bunker at the 15th hole, and others who seemed to be looking for lost balls…

Although far from Mont Choisy, our friends the monkeys from the Tamarina Golf Club seemed eager to meet up with us again. Some made an appearance on the golfers’ bags while they were waiting for next week!

After two days of competition, the team led by Patrice BARQUEZ and his teammates Richard PELISSERO, Jean-Loup DUVAIL and Benjamin LEGEU, is leading the rankings with a score of 137. The three following teams are separated by just two points. Take note of the presence at the top of this table of the team led by pro Antoine SCHWARTZ, winner of the French International Professional Doubles, who recently played at the Bassin Bleu Golf Course in Réunion with Romain LANGASQUE. With his partners Max CUBIT, Eric de BIASO and Pascal BARIOT, this team is one to watch!

In the net ranking, it’s the team of Jean-Philippe WELTER, Daniel CONDINA, Alexis BOUTRY and Stéphane PERRAULT that’s leading the competition with 180 points.

There’s still everything to play for and the next few days should offer some exciting play.
