#VirungaNationalPark News

(Posted 04th July 2023)

An ongoing initiative in Virunga National Park focuses on monitoring and safeguarding the lion population of the Ishasha Valley. Lions hold significant importance in maintaining an ecological balance in their ecosystem.

In May 2023, a transformative project led by Virunga Energies brought light and safety to the streets of Goma, changing the lives of its residents.

At 39 years old, silverback Humba has reached a mature stage in his life as a mountain gorilla. During his lifetime, he has had many encounters with rival silverbacks, including duels with his father, Rugendo, and brother Nyakamwe.
