The widening of the scope, with the launch of the African Tourism Investment Summit and other programme components, has added more value for visitors to World Travel Market Africa and it paid off handsomly for the organizers.
On day one of the event 14 percent more visitors came through the gates, a trend continued on day 2, when the African Tourism Investment Summit launched.

An exciting programme of speakers and panels has been lined up and no one was better suited to kick off proceedings than Alain St. Ange, former Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine of the Seychelles, who moderated the first panel yesterday morning.
On the panel was notably Ms. Lilly Ajarova, recently appointed CEO of the Uganda Tourism Board, who made several panel appearances throughout the day, showcasing her home country of Uganda in the process to hundreds of attendees of the various sessions.

World Travel Market Africa comes to an end today, Friday, and it is already clear that exhibitor numbers, hosted buyer numbers, general trade visitors to the exhibition spaces – all sold out incidentally – and invited media broke past records, firmly establishing the Africa Travel Week and WTM Africa as the continent’s premier tourism trade show.
