Hello all!
The year is coming to an end, another challenging year with a finale we certainly didn’t anticipate only a few weeks ago.
Our thoughts go towards those of you who were booked to spend the festive season in Zambia, sadly Covid had other plans in store.
Nevertheless, we finish the year feeling grateful for your everlasting support and by thanking those who overcame travel obstacles to visit us in 2021. The safaris have been awesome, and at the end of the day (or year ?) that is what counts, isn’t it?
Anke and Ron Cowan were also stopped in their tracks by the recent flight cancellations but are already rescheduled to come in early January instead, after two years stuck in Australia. It feels like nothing can stop them now, and our staff is looking forward to the reunion.
Our last guests will leave on 8th January, and then it will be time to close for the season, give everybody a good break and get the lodge ready for 2022 – which I hope will keep its promises!
I’m going to keep this newsletter very short. Instead, I’ll make room for the beautiful photos taken by our guest Jean-Michel who, together with his wife Karine, came to Kafunta for 15 nights in late October, early November.
I hope you will enjoy these photos and that they will trigger that irresistible urge to book your safari with us. Soon!
From our Kafunta family to yours, we wish you a peaceful and festive holiday season. May 2022 bring you good health, lasting love and exciting travels!

I’ll be back in 2022 with more photos and news of Kafunta Safaris.
