Leading reasons for international travel to Zimbabwe in 2025
• Visiting Friends and Relatives (VFR) was the single largest driver of travel to Zimbabwe in 2025, accounting for 30.8% (547,549) of all international arrivals.
• The Transit Corridor: In-transit travelers represented the second-largest segment at 27.1% (481,326), reflecting Zimbabwe’s critical geographic position as a transport hub in Southern Africa.
• Business vs. Leisure: Business travel slightly outpaced traditional holiday/leisure tourism, bringing in 18.6% (330,404) of visitors compared to leisure’s 18.1% (321,577).
• Niche Segments: Shopping and education remain minor entry motives, combined making up less than 5% of the total 1.78 million international visits.
