Zurich to see double daily A380 flights from Dubai come October

EMIRATES ANNOUNCES SECOND DAILY AIRBUS A380 SERVICE TO ZURICH

(Posted 08th April 2015)

Come October 01st this year will Emirates offer double daily Airbus A380 services, substituting the B777-300ER presently used for one of the two daily flights.

The upgrade in aircraft will be made possible by continued deliveries of the world’s largest passenger aircraft from Airbus to Emirates, which is already the biggest operator of this aircraft type among the global aviation community.

The change in aircraft type will add a further 945 seats on the route each week, a sign that the airline’s management expects continued sustained demand from Switzerland’s financial centre to not just Dubai but from there going East and South.

Emirates has set new service standards with the introduction of the A380 on this route and going double daily from the last quarter of the year will no doubt add competitive pressure on other carriers flying into Zurich. Free WiFi on board, world class entertainment, an on board Spa for First Class guests, a sky lounge for premium passengers at cruising altitude and notably a free limousine service on departure and arrival in Zurich have made an impact on the market, propelling demand upwards.

Passengers from Emirates’ East Africa destinations Entebbe, Nairobi and Dar es Salaam will from October onwards be able to fly to Zurich on the A380, regardless which of the two daily flights they choose to connect out of Dubai.
