Emerging technologies, cyber threats, geopolitical instability and evolving operational risks are reshaping the global security landscape. Forward-looking approaches will therefore be essential to future-proofing aviation security.
Save the date for ICAO Security Week 2026, taking place 20–22 October 2026 in Astana, Kazakhstan.
Under the theme, Secure Skies in a Complex World: Advancing Security in Aviation for All, the event will convene government officials, regulators, industry leaders, international organizations and aviation security professionals to examine today’s most pressing security challenges and the collaborative solutions needed to address them.

Designed as a global platform for dialogue and collaboration, the programme will feature high-level symposium sessions, expert panel discussions, and an exhibition focused on the priorities for future-proofing aviation security, including modernization through emerging technologies and artificial intelligence, cyber resilience, workforce development, conflict-zone risk management, and secure cargo and supply chains.
Discussions will be informed by ICAO’s implementation initiatives, including the Global Aviation Security Plan (GASeP) and the Universal Security Audit Programme – Continuous Monitoring Approach (USAP-CMA), while contributing to the strategic dialogue leading to the Third High-level Conference on Aviation Security (HLCAS/3) in 2027.
