An aged if not ancient Antonov 26, owned and operated by the South Sudanese air force, crashed earlier today in Yida, South Sudan, when attempting to land. The aircraft was carrying cargo from Juba, the South Sudanese capital city, to Yida.
Sources in Juba have suggested that one of the landing gears on touchdown collapsed, seeing the aircraft swerve off he landing stip, catch fire and burn out.
Thankfully did the crew of two pilots, two army officers and three passengers escape with minor injuries.
