Air Tanzania has announced that Nigerian travellers can now obtain a Tanzanian visa upon arrival, rather than completing the arduous visa process and securing approval before travelling.
Previously, Nigerian travellers were subject to Tanzania’s referral visa requirements, which required them to submit their applications before departure and wait for approval from the relevant immigration authorities.
The new arrangement could make travel to Tanzania more convenient for Nigerian passengers, as the applicable visa formalities can now be completed upon arrival, subject to immigration requirements.
The move could also benefit Air Tanzania commercially as the airline operates the Lagos–Dar es Salaam route three times a week. A more convenient visa process could encourage travel on the route and support increased passenger traffic between Nigeria and Tanzania, with potential benefits for tourism and business travel.
