After Mauritius authorities officially announced a Category Two alert as tropical cyclone ‘Carlos‘ approached the island, has national airline Air Mauritius too taken precautions and cancelled several flights scheduled to arrive in Port Louis later today, 06th February. Affected were flights to Pierrefonds MK256/7 which were cancelled, MK 140/1 to Rodrigues which were also cancelled and MK 248/9 to Reunion, which too fell victim to the bad weather. This information was later revised when the airline announced that all regional and international flights due to depart or arrive from Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport on 06th February, i.e. later today, would be cancelled due to weather conditions.
Delayed by a day – landing is now due tomorrow 07th February – were the following long haul flights: From Paris flight MK 045, flight MK053 from London and flight MK687 from Beijing.
Subsequent aircraft rotations may also be affected and passengers are advised to check with the airline to ascertain the status of their flights.
