ICAO COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT

Air Navigation World (ANW) – Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM)
Montréal, Canada | 5 – 9 October 2026

ICAO is pleased to invite you to the Air Navigation World (ANW) 2026 – Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM), taking place from 5 to 9 October 2026 at ICAO Headquarters in Montréal, Canada.

This event comes at a pivotal time for the global air navigation community. With the new ICAO ATFM provisions proposed for applicability in 2030, ATFM is expected to play an increasingly important role in supporting safe, efficient and collaborative air traffic management operations across States, air navigation services providers (ANSPs), and airspace users. By fostering early engagement and capacity-building, the event can help States and industry partners better prepare for future implementation and maximize the benefits of a globally harmonized approach to ATFM.

Through technical sessions and interactive discussions, participants will examine the key enablers of ATFM implementation and gain practical insights to support national planning and future ATFM implementation efforts.

ATFM 2026 will be particularly relevant for:

  • States preparing for the implementation of ATFM services and seeking practical guidance to support future implementation of ICAO ATFM provisions
  •  ANSPs responsible for implementing ATFM processes, supporting systems, information-sharing arrangements, and collaborative decision-making processes supporting ATFM.
  • Airspace users and industry partners contributing to system-wide performance and supporting the integration of ATFM within ATM operations.

Event Highlight: Holistic approach of ATFM implementation

This year, we will introduce a specialised orientation that explores the operational, institutional and technical elements that support ATFM implementation. By examining ATFM alongside related ATM concepts and capabilities, including capacity determination, collaborative decision-making, airspace management, information management and emerging operational concepts, delegates will gain a better understanding of the key considerations for ATFM implementation and how these elements work together within national and regional environments.
