Air Tanzania announces plans to launch London flights in 2027

The introduction of direct flights between London and Tanzania from 2027 is not just about aviation, it is about connectivity, tourism growth, trade expansion and positioning Tanzania more competitively on the global stage. Reports indicate that the route is expected to connect London directly to Kilimanjaro, Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar with at least three weekly flights.

For many years, travellers flying between the UK and Tanzania have largely depended on transit hubs such as Addis Ababa, Nairobi, Doha, Istanbul and Amsterdam due to the absence of direct connectivity. A direct route has the potential to significantly reduce travel friction for tourists, investors, business travellers and the Tanzanian diaspora living in the UK.

If executed well, this route could become a catalyst for broader economic opportunities across hospitality, logistics, trade, conferences, investment and regional connectivity.
