Air Seychelles announced the suspension of flights between Mahe and Tel Aviv, effective immediately.
The airlines was until now operating four flights per week, after Israel become a major source of tourists to the Seychelles islands over the past years.
Said an airline spokesperson: “The safety of our passengers and crew are always our number one priority and a schedule adjustment was done, and risk mitigation plans put in action in order to operate these flights. We will continue to monitor the situation and hope to resume commercial operations when possible“.
The simmering conflict between Palestine terror organisations and Israel escalated after gunmen from Hamas rampaged through Israeli towns and a music festival on Saturday, brutally killing at least 1.300 Israelis but also foreign visitors.
Israel has since declared a state of war, leading to a severe impact on air traffic into and out of Tel Aviv.
