Auric Air, a privately owned airline operating from three ‘hubs’ in Tanzania, Mwanza, their original base, Dar es Salaam and Arusha, has announced their first international route, when on 01st of September flights from Mwanza, via Bukoba will be launched to Entebbe in Uganda. The new route will be served every Monday, Wednesday and Friday and is aimed at offering easier access from Entebbe to Mwanza, Tanzania’s lakeside town on Lake Victoria. From there is the Serengeti but 3 hours’ drive away, or half an hour by air for those wishing to charter from Mwanza into any of the many airstrips serving safari lodges and camps. The aircraft used will be a Cessna Grand Caravan C208B’s, offering up to 13 passenger seats and limited loose cargo space.

The airline also confirmed that their 10th brand new Grand Caravan, a C208B-EX version, is now on the way to East Africa, after taking delivery in Tampa / Florida yesterday. Registered as 5H-AAF, MSN C208B-5102, is the aircraft presently progressing the ferry flight, with Captain Adam Domino on the controls, along a ‘scenic route’ touching down for fuel and rest stops in St. Georges / Bermuda, Santa Maria / Azores, La Valetta / Malta, Luxor / Egypt and finally to Nairobi / Kenya, where the formal airworthiness inspection will be carried out at Auric’s maintenance base before formally joining the 9 sisterships.

Auric Air serves over 20 destinations across the country including the Zanzibari islands of Unguja and Pemba, by scheduled flights, offering tourists and the business community a reliable service to secondary and tertiary airports and aerodromes otherwise often only accessible by the more expensive private charter option.

The airline is also the only Tanzanian aviation company certified by BARS / Flight Safety Foundation and currently holds a Silver registration status with this global safety organization. For a full list of Auric’s destinations across the Tanzanian mainland and the islands click on www.auricair.com
