Another major airline moves into JKIA’s new Terminal 1A

KLM MOVES TO TERMINAL 1A

(Posted 23rd January 2015)

KLM has completed their move from the former Unit 2, now Terminal 1C to the brand new Terminal 1A, following partner airline Kenya Airways which had started the migration last year and progressively shifted all their regional and international departures to their new ‘home’.

The switchover by KLM, which flies in codeshare with Kenya Airways on the route to Amsterdam, was long expected and has now finally materialized, bringing both airlines again under one roof. Other SkyTeam partners flying to Nairobi will reportedly also move to the new terminal in due course.

Premium passengers of KLM, as do premium passengers of other SkyTeam member airlines, are now able to use a dedicated separate entrance into the terminal, can enjoy the service at the premium check in counters and also fast track through immigration and security. The two Kenya Airways lounges Pride and Simba are then available for KLM business class passengers and holders of frequent flyer cards which give the holders access to the lounges.
