Enoch Kwasi Worlanyo Wallace, the highly respected Head of Sports for Multimedia
Group’s Asempa FM and Adom FM, has been officially named among the distinguished
nominees for the upcoming 2027 Diamond Excellence Awards.
The announcement has ignited widespread excitement across the Ghanaian media
landscape, sparked by an official promotional flyer featuring the celebrated
broadcaster's portrait alongside the teaser, “Anticipate.”
Affectionately known to millions as Professor E.K. Wallace, his journey to the apex of
sports broadcasting is a testament to consistency, humility, and an unparalleled mastery
of the airwaves. Wallace possesses a rare, hypnotic storytelling skill that has become
his signature; the moment he opens his microphone, his vivid commentary and narrative
depth leave listeners absolutely glued to their sets, completely captivated until his
airtime is officially over.
His broadcasting career began with modest resources at a community radio station in
Koforidua, located in the Eastern Region. Rather than chasing immediate mainstream
fame, Wallace dedicated his early years to amplifying grassroots football, using his
gripping narrative gift to give a voice to the communities, division clubs, and emerging
talents that the national spotlight often overlooked.
From covering dusty district Colts competitions to the intense battlegrounds of Division
One and Division Two leagues, Wallace transformed his platform into a launchpad for
local athletes. His deep commitment to his roots became his trademark, famously
reflected in his meticulous effort to pronounce local names correctly, preserving the
dignity and heritage of the players and the communities they represent.
While many peers gravitated toward the glamour of the capital’s elite tiers, Wallace
remained a fierce custodian of grassroots sports. His unique blend of tactical brilliance,
captivating storytelling, and cultural authenticity ultimately caught the attention of the
Multimedia Group, where he now steers national sports programming.
The Diamond Excellence Awards ceremony is expected to take place in February 2027.
While specific details surrounding his exact nomination category remain under wraps,
the announcement alone marks a monumental milestone. For a broadcaster who has
spent decades serving as the microphone for the voiceless in Ghanaian football, this
international recognition represents a well-deserved acknowledgment of an unbroken
legacy.
