LPG in East Africa – an unfolding story

Four countries, four different plays, one clear direction.

Kenya is scaling fast with a new Mombasa terminal and a target of 8.4 million clean cooking households by 2028. Tanzania is building out storage with 80% clean cooking access as the 2034 goal. Uganda is targeting 50% clean cooking by 2030. Rwanda is running the most interesting experiment of the four, a pay as you go LPG kit program aiming for 50,000 households in 18 months.

The macro picture: demand is accelerating faster than regional supply and distribution can comfortably absorb. That gap is the opportunity.

If your business sits anywhere on the LPG value chain, Nairobi in January is where the people building this market will be.
