Austrians now can travel with one stop to the Seychelles after codeshare deal signed

MORE CODESHARES EXPAND AIR SEYCHELLES’ REACH INTO EUROPE

(Posted 21st August 2015)

One of the secrets of success for a small airline is through cooperation and Air Seychelles’ has mastered this art better than many others. Already having a significant number of code share agreements on the books, which have helped to open up a number of European markets, most recently through a deal with Air France, has the airline now signed a deal with Austria’s Niki.

Both airlines are partners of Etihad Airways and as such keen to create linkages to the mutual benefit and the deal inked yesterday with Niki is no different.

The daily flights by Niki from Vienna to Mahe will route via Abu Dhabi, from where Air Seychelles then flies the remaining sector to the Seychelles, giving tourists from Austria a one stop travel to the paradise islands. Onward flights from Mahe to Praslin, to where Air Seychelles literally operates half hourly flights with their fleet of Twin Otter turboprop aircraft, are part of the deal.

Said Roy Kinnear, CEO of Air Seychelles, after signing the deal: ‘We are pleased to sign this codeshare agreement with NIKI, adding Vienna, a city renowned for its culture and history, to our broader network and enhancing connectivity and choice for guests visiting Seychelles from Europe. This is a further demonstration of how forming codeshare partnerships allow Air Seychelles to grow its network reach, drive more tourism growth in Seychelles and provide more travel benefits for our guests’.
