Brand new Boeing B737-800NG heading to Kigali in mid November

KALISIMBI‘ HEADING TO KIGALI IN NOVEMBER TO GIVE RWANDAIR A DOUBLE DIGIT FLEET NUMBER

(Posted 29th October 2016)

RwandAir’s next brand new aircraft delivery, due in mid November this year, will be another Boeing B737-800NG with SkyInterior, matching previous deliveries of this aircraft type with the welcome addition of WiFi on board, which will set the carrier apart from other airlines in Africa which still struggle with the concept of wireless connectivity in the passenger cabin.
Named ‘Kalisimbi‘ after Rwanda’s highest mountain, will the aircraft take the fleet numbers for the first time in the airline’s history climb into double digit numbers, before another Airbus A330-300 named ‘Umurage‘ will take its maiden flight from Toulouse to Kigali.
Aircraft number 12 is then due to join the fleet in Q2 of 2017, another brand new Boeing B737-800NG to allow capacity increased on key routes and the opening up of additional destinations across Africa.

Meanwhile has ‘Ubumwe‘, RwandAir’s first Airbus A330-200 completed a maiden flight to Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport where invited guests from the travel trade, the corporate world and the diplomatic corps had the opportunity to see for themselves, what a three class standard on RwandAir now looks like. A flat bet business class section gives way to a separate premium economy section with deep lean-back seats and foot rests while the economy class section gives great value for money.
