Charlotte Beauvoisin of ‘Diary of a Muzungu’ wins a Pyne Award for best Blog/Vlog

I knew I had been nominated for “Tourism Blog/ Vlog if the Year” but I was up against a couple of really big names…

I received an invitation to attend the awards event in Maputo, Mozambique. (Oooo how I wanted to go!) But as luck would have it: I was already committed to World Tourism Day celebrations here in Uganda.

Massive thanks to my friend in tourism Sam Adeleke who was at the awards event and saw my face pop up on the screen. He started filming!

I do love how small the world is at times… Before I knew it, Sam was on stage kindly accepting my award and reading out my ‘acceptance speech’ hastily sent via text!

Sam is visiting Mozambique from his home in Nigeria. We first met in Rwanda some years ago – tracking mountain gorillas

It seems I was able to be in two countries at once, thanks to Sam
