Clico Hotel Rosebank – Johannesburg

The latest newsletter from the Clico Hotel arrived in a timely manner as it is just a year ago that I enjoyed their hospitality and was able to sample my way through Chef Marnus’ exceptional menu.
I am happy to share some of the key elements of their latest updates including their contact details for anyone who would like to pay them a visit, to stay or just to eat:

Welcome to Autumn 2018…

As we head into the colder months of the year, I hope many of you are recharged after the Easter break.

Alongside some precious down-time in an already-busy year, Valentine’s 2018 was a highlight both for me personally, and here at Clico. Love was definitely in the air this year, and Clico was the chosen venue for several proposals – all of which ended in that all-important “yes!”. It was a privilege to be a part of these couples’ special memories, and we wish them all a wonderful and happy future together.

As Autumn settles into the Jo’burg air, we’ve taken inspiration from the amber hues for our latest seasonal menu. Read all about Chef Marnus’ creations, new dishes and what to expect inn the pages that follow. We also tell you more about our recent pop-up store, and our express conferencing package – for teams on the go!

Our hotel continues to climb the ranks and has once again achieved an improved score on Trip Advisor. As the only boutique hotel in Rosebank, surrounded by prominent competitors, we continue to be exceptionally proud of this achievement. To all of our guests who have reviewed us, we wish to extend a special thank you as your feedback and rating is invaluable to us!

Don’t forget, if you’re planning a visit to Johannesburg, book as far in advance as possible. The earlier you book, the better the rate! Remember that we offer a weekend special every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night and corporate specials can be negotiated for frequent visitors. High season periods are already filling up fast, so contact us as soon as you can!

We look forward to seeing you at Clico soon.

Yours in hospitality,

Jeanette Schwegman

A new season means a new menu!

Two of our Autumn dishes – first Butternut Gnocchi with roasted mushrooms, spinach and parmesan; and next to it Milk & Honey with goat’s cheese panacotta, Rooibox cremeux and honeycomb.

Chef Marnus Scholly and his team have taken inspiration from the amber hues of Autumn and created a warm and flavourful menu for autumn including Duck Terrine, Parisienne Butternut Gnocchi or Potato and Leek Soup. These bold, seasonal dishes are available either as A La Carte, or as a six-course tasting menu. All of the new dishes have been expertly paired with some exceptional local boutique wines.

Clico Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also, our Jazz Sundays take place on the last Sunday of the month. Please click here to make a reservation for the next event.
