Endorsements are piling in for Alain St. Ange’s quest to become UNWTO Secretary General

ST. ANGE GETS THUMBS UP FROM THE WORLD’S FOREMOST TRAVELER

(Posted 28th January 2017)

As the race for the top job at the UNWTO heats up and perhaps even more candidates are joining the field, is the Seychelles’ immediate former Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Marine and Ports reeling in endorsements.
Famous for his often repeated quote that ‘The Seychelles are friends with all and enemies with none‘ has St. Ange over his career years, in both private and public sector, gathered the respect, friendship and in fact from many tourism stakeholders world wide outright admiration, for his honesty, his competence, his eloquence and last but not least his vision how tourism ought to develop, not just for his native Seychelles but for the tourism world at large.
Alain St. Ange, true to his principles, resigned from his position as Minister to pursue his campaign for the Secretary Generalship of UNWTO without calling on his country’s resources or leaving the crucial tourism portfolio unattended or neglected as he travels from event to event to make his case why he should be the candidate of choice.
Now has Fred W. Finn, the Guinness World Record holder for travel, given St. Ange his endorsement.

Fred W. Finn holds more than 15 Million Miles with 718 Flights in "Concorde”, is the Co-Founder www.quicket.to and is the Ambassador Honourable Representative of the Georgian National Tourism Administration.

In a letter on the 24th January to Taleb Rifai the current Secretary General of the UNWTO, Fred W. Finn says:

I am following the process of selecting your next Secretary General and would like to congratulate you on such a fine job whilst you have been in office. I have the following recommendation to make which is completely that truth, unbiased and, without the knowledge of Alain St Ange, I will copy him as a matter of courtesy that I have written about him.
Regarding Alain St Ange:
I have known Alain for 20 years or more from when he was in the hospitality industry in Seychelles, I worked alongside this passionate man with vision.
I have been a follower of Alain’s career; his success is a tribute to his hard work. I have been delighted to write about him in OK Magazine, talked on TV shows and, in leading newspapers around the world to talk about Seychelles. Alain has inspired this love of Seychelles not only in me but so many around the world. I now list Seychelles, because of Alain’s interest in me all those years ago, as one on my favourite destinations in everything I write and talk about
I can think of no better person to become Secretary General of the UNWTO than this hardworking, dedicated, talented professional so that he may continue to succeed in his Tourism visions on your much bigger stage
‘.

Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Candidate for the post of Secretary General for the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) alongside Korea, Georgia, Brazil, Mexico and Zimbabwe has said that he is thankful for Fred Finn’s endorsement. ‘Tourism is and remains a people’s industry, and when people from this big tourism family acknowledge your work it gives you encouragement. I am always humbled by such endorsements and I just continue to re-assure everyone that in me and with me the World of Tourism will have a leader as they will also have a friend who respects everyone and every country immaterial of their politics, the colour of their skin, their religious beliefs and their sexual preferences‘ said Alain St.Ange in his response copied to this correspondent.
