SKYTRAX NAMES ETHIOPIAN AIRLINES AS ‘AFRICAN AIRLINE OF THE YEAR‘

On the sidelines of the just ended Paris Air Show did Skytrax hold their annual award ceremony during which aviation excellence is honoured and rewarded.Notably did Ethiopian Airlines capture the ‘Best Airline in Africa‘ trophy, adding fame to their name after signing contracts with both Airbus – for another 10 A350-900’s – and Boeing for additional B737-800’s and two B777F cargo aircraft on the same day.
Said Tewolde Gebremariam when receiving the Skytrax award: ‘We are thrilled that Skytrax, the most reputed global airline rating organization, has honoured Ethiopian Airlines with The Best Airline in Africa award. I am very happy that Ethiopian has won the award as the Best Airline in Africa based on customer survey. This is a very strong testimony that in line with our vision 2025, our heavy investment in customer service, Human Resource Development, modern fleet, infrastructure and ICT has resulted in the desired customer delight which is expressed by the strong vote of confidence in the global survey. It will motivate us to continue to invest time, energy and money on the four pillars of our vision 2025 with sharp focus in customer service across the value chain.

Ethiopian had on two prior occasions been similarly awarded by Skytrax, which remains the undisputed number one global airline and airport rating and ranking system in the world, based on passenger feedback and hence not corruptible.
