Farmers in Buliisa / Uganda stare at losses after elephant raids

For six years, Robinah Bagadisa has waited for compensation after elephants invaded her garden in Nyamutete Village, Bugana Parish, destroying crops that provided food and income for her family. The elephants reportedly raided her two-acre garden in 2020, destroying maize and cassava. She reported the incident to the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), whose rangers visited the garden to assess and document the damage.
