A fire has broken out earlier last evening at one of Nairobi’s major hotels, the Safari Park. Known as one of Kenya’s largest conference venues on the outskirts of the city has the hotel been in existence since the 1980’s.
In October 2012 did the hotel suffer another fire which however was also put out by the Nairobi fire services and inhouse fire fighters, as was reported at the time.
Latest reports coming in from Nairobi say the fire, which according to the picture appeared to be substantial, has been brought under control by several fire engines which had been dispatched to the location.
No further details are available right now as to the precise location of the fire within the hotel complex nor what impact the fire will have on the operation of the hotel.

Additional information received, including tweets seen from the Safari Park Hotel, was the fire located at the hotel’s workshops, was brought under control and did thankfully, to a large part due to the prompt reaction by the fire department, not spread to guest rooms and public areas. All services at the hotel are up and running and guests are not affected.

Further to the unfortunate incident at the workshop area, there was no damage to the hotel facility. Thank you all for the support.
