#IATA at #CAPA Conference in #Doha #Qatar

Alexandre de Juniac, IATA’s Director General and CEO addressed the CAPA Aeropolitical and Regulatory Affairs Summit in Doha, Qatar today.

In his speech he highlighted the following topics:

  • Smarter Regulation: The growing regulatory challenges facing the industry and the need for Smarter Regulation
  • Environment: The need for more governments to join CORSIA and the importance of ensuring that its implementation is fully aligned with the agreed ICAO specifications
  • Airport Slots: The need for governments to follow a globally-consistent and reliable system for slot allocation and the dangers of slot auctioning
  • Passenger Rights: The requirement for a common sense approach in the development of passenger rights regulations
  • Aeropolitics: The increasing pressures on aviation today due to a number of political agendas
