(Posted 16th September 2022)

Following the sale of Nairobi’s Crowne Plaza Hotel, located on Upper Hill, have news emerged that InterContinental Hotels will lose the management contract for the property.

Accor, Europe’s largest hotel management company, is already well represented in Kenya, will take on the management of the 206 room property, though questions remain under which brand the hotel will be located.

The change will leave IHG with a Crowne Plaza and the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, the Fairview and the Holiday in at Two Rivers.

Accor meanwhile will add another major property to their portfolio in Kenya, which already includes the Fairmont The Norfolk, Fairmont Mt. Kenya Safari Club, Fairmont Masai Mara, The Movenpick at Nairobi’s Westlands area and the Ibis Styles, also located in the Nairobi Westlands area.

Once it has been established under which brand Accor will manage the hotel does www.ATCNews.org inform readers.
