Isiolo’s new airport set for daily flights from Nairobi

KENYA’S NORTH OPENS UP FOR TRAVEL AND TRADE AS ISIOLO GETS DAILY FLIGHTS FROM NAIROBI

(Posted 25th August 2017)

As indicated here in earlier reports have operations into Isiolo’s new airport already started on a charter basis but come September will scheduled flights commence.
FlySax will launch daily flights as of 03rd of September from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport, leaving the city at 15.30hrs. The 45 minutes flight will get passengers to Isiolo at 16.15 hrs and the return service then leaves for Nairobi just 15 minutes later, reaching Wilson Airport at 17.15 hrs.
The new flights – other airlines will no doubt also announce regular flights soon – will give both tourists and traders the opportunity to reach Isiolo much faster than the previous road transport and lodges in Samburu, Buffalo Springs and Shaba will no doubt provide transfers to and from their properties.
Most tourist traffic has in the past however used direct flights into the parks and game reserves directly or to the private airstrips of very upmarket tented safari camps outside the three protected areas.
No information could be obtained as to the aircraft type to be used.
