Le Duc de Praslin’s founder Frank Payet passes on

ONE OF SEYCHELLES’ HOSPITALITY PIONEERS IS NO MORE

(Posted 03rd April 2015)

Mr. Frank Payet, founder of one of Praslin’s leading and one of the island’s oldest hotels, the Le Duc de Praslin, is no more.

The sad news reached yesterday that the 83 years old tourism veteran passed away at the end of March and that his funeral was held in the midst of family, friends, staff of the hotel and business associates on April 01st at the Mont Plaisir Cemetery.

This correspondent has in the past visited the hotel repeatedly and periodically reported about upgrades and modernization and the sense of loss at the resort and among all who knew him must be profound.

The resort is managed by Mr. Robert Payet, the son of the late Frank, and it is to him and through him that sincere heartfelt condolences are expressed by the entire eTN team, this correspondent included.

Rest in Peace Frank – your work and memory will live on!
