KENYATTA INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION CENTRE READY TO HOST #MKTE2017

(Posted 01st October 2017)

120 hosted buyers are presently exploring Kenya’s beaches and national parks before spending three busy days meeting the who is who of Kenya’s tourism and hospitality industry at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre. It is there that the 2017 edition of the Magical Kenya Travel Expo takes place from the 03rd to the 05th of this month.
The number of hosted buyers is up from last year’s 107 and they are drawn from right across the world, key traditional source markets for tourists coming to Kenya from the US, the UK, Germany and the rest of Europe and as far as China.
Over 1.500 meetings have been lined up between hosted buyers and ‘sellers‘ at MKTE, providing much promise for a significant increase in arrival numbers for 2018.
At the same time have the numbers of exhibitors also gone up from last year’s 137 to over 150 this year, giving hosted buyers an even wider choice of who to do business with when it comes to Kenya. Among the Kenyan companies represented are national airline Kenya Airways, Serena Hotels, Sarova Hotels, Sun Africa Hotels, Carlson Rezidor, Heritage Hotels, Kempinski and Hemingways among many others. Twiga Tours and Gamewatchers / Porini Safari Camps are also represented as they have been for many years.
This correspondent’s local blog partner Go Places is also inviting trade visitors to their stand at the tourism expo as are a wide number of other service providers.
Also present once again is the Uganda Tourism Board and the Seychelles Tourism Board among other national tourism offices which have decided that being at MKTE 2017 is almost a must if to promote their own services in East Africa’s largest tourism market.
Expect regular updates during the expo days including interviews posted via YouTube from key stakeholders attending #MKTE2017
