Meet Bernard Oboth – who had set his eyes on becoming a chef

Meet Bernard Oboth, quite a humble young man with a great attitude. He has embraced change to give him a competitive advantage.

Oboth graduated with a diploma in Catering from HTTC Jinja in 2013 and immediately joined the Serena family as an Industrial Trainee. He however was not taken on by the Production Department and was instead given a position as a public area attendant in the HouseKeeping Department where his performance since has been nothing but exceptional.

Two year later, his passion and dream to be a chef hasn’t wavered and it’s that drive that’s brought him brought him back into the kitchen.

During the cook’s interviews today, he emerged best presenter for both the theoretical as well as the food practicals. He had in fact requested his immediate superior, the Executive House Keeper, to be allowed to train after his shift for the interview and how well that worked out. Another Serena career story in the making no doubt!

We have no doubt that we shall soon see him looking dapper in his cooks Uniform…. And what do his colleagues say about him? Hardworking, articulate and while spending his previous work days at the Conference Centre knowing all there is to know about the Serena kitchen …

Hats off to Bernard Oboth!
