The competition recognises young people already leading or actively contributing to tourism initiatives in South Africa, providing them with complimentary access to the 2026 TBCSA Tourism Leadership Conference and an opportunity to engage with the wider tourism industry.
Sandile Popi, Founder & Director of Tokende Africa, is developing educational tourism experiences in Gauteng, connecting young people with heritage, culture and tourism through school tours and other learning experiences.
Oyama Bam, Founder & Director of Imbiza Cultural Tourism, is based in KuGompo, Eastern Cape, bringing Xhosa culture and food together through experiences centred on traditional meal preparation and cultural participation.
Inam Amy Siyengu, Founder & Director of Agape Camping Site, is building a nature and adventure tourism offering in Riemvasmaak, Northern Cape, along the Orange River, with experiences including camping, fishing, canoeing, hiking, birdwatching and cycling.
Thalente Tshezi, Founder of Florence’s Grass Heritage Enterprise, is bringing heritage craft into tourism in Bulwer, KwaZulu-Natal, through handmade grass and natural-fibre products. The initiative also showcased its work at Africa’s Travel Indaba 2026.
The four winners will join tourism leaders and industry stakeholders at the 2026 TBCSA Tourism Leadership Conference, from 27–28 October 2026, at Sun City Resort, North West province.
