REMEMBER: NO REGISTRATION, NO RACE!

Dear MOUNTAIN BIKE FRIENDS!

We are delighted to invite you back to our beloved mountain to take part in this unique mountain bike safari competition.

Taking place once again on the slopes of Mount Kenya and the beautiful Borana Conservancy, this is an amazing opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and fresh air, whilst supporting and raising valuable funds to protect the ‘water towers’ of Kenya.

On the 18 & 19th February 2022 will be the main races that have become a core part of the Tropic Air 10to4 event the EXTREME, CLASSIC, RUSH & SLIDE

The MINI 10to4, supported by EastAfrican.com, will be held on Sunday 20th February and is the perfect opportunity for budding cyclists (under the age of 13 years old) to get involved too.

What to expect in 2022?

Once again, pre-event registration will be available for ALL EVENTS and is GREATLY encouraged, full details can be found on the Event Schedule (which is subject to change, so keep checking back!).

To speed up the registration process further, this year all Riders will be encouraged to complete and submit Waiver and Medical Forms online – more details on the website.

We will once again be offering camping at Borana Race Village, and the Bike Drop service will give your bike a lift to the Race Start Point ready for you to ride on Saturday morning.

The 10to4 MINI Mountain Bike Challenge will also be back at Borana for 2022.

We hope the 2022 event will be a return to the 10to4 format we all know and love, though obviously we’ll be following Government Covid-19 guidelines in whatever form they take at the time and closely monitoring the situation.  For up-to-date information, keep an eye on the Covid-19 section on our Essential Info page which will be updated regularly.

We are also offering a Virtual Event again this year for all our international friends who cannot join us for the weekend. More information to follow.

Stay fit and well!

The 10to4 TeamRegister now! Why take part in the 2022 10to4?
1. Support the Mount Kenya Trust: the 10to4 is the key fundraising event for Mount Kenya Trust who continue to work incredibly hard to protect and conserve the forest, water, people and wildlife around Africa’s second-highest mountain.

2. It’s good for your health: riding a bicycle regularly is one of the best ways to reduce your risk of health problems associated with a sedentary lifestyle. Keep fit by riding regularly and join us for this fun event.

3. It’s an outdoor, socially distanced event: the event organisers prioritise the safety of the competitors and are working hard to ensure the event is run in a safe and responsible manner (within the Governments guidelines).

4. It’s good for your soul: not only are you raising money for a valuable cause but the fresh air and beautiful scenery is good for your mind and your soul. This has been a tough year and getting out and about into nature is the perfect antidote.

Which race should I enter?
EXTREME (80km) Technical 144km two-day ride with arduous 2000m+ elevation gain.
CLASSIC (64km) From slopes to savannah, one day race with tough stretches up and down escarpments.
RUSH (56km) Same route as the Classic with an easier finish.
SLIDE (39km) Pleasant and undulating route for all abilities.
MINI 10to4 Races for 4 to 12-year-olds at Borana Race Village.
EBIKES Once again eBikers are encouraged to sign up and take part in either the Classic or Rush.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

The 2022 event wouldn’t be able to take place without the unwavering support of our sponsors and partners, in particular our headline sponsor Tropic Air. Once again, it’s been a tough year for everyone and we are so blown away by the encouragement and support of our sponsers.
