New #Kilifi resort aims for five star standards

#SILVERPALM SPA & RESORT TO SHAKE UP #KILIFI HOTEL SCENE

(Posted 11th October 2017)

With just 38 rooms and suites does this new resort, located in Kilifi county, intend to set new standards along this part of the Kenya coast when fully operational.
A meeting at the Magical Kenya Travel Expo allowed for interaction with Resort Manager Michael Otieno who shared the following information about the size and facilities of the new resort:

• 24 double or twin rooms – with a choice of lush garden, pool or sea views
• 12 executive ground floor suites with 6 having bougainvillea terraces and direct pool access (Restrictions apply)
• 2 premiere suites with a personal butler and one with a private pool

All rooms offer guests free WiFi, a mini bar and tea / coffee making facilities, a safety deposit box and hair dryer. Room service, according to Mr. Otieno, will be available around the clock 24 hours every day.
Two restaurants and a bar otherwise will be happy to serve resort guests with both a buffet service and an a la carte menu.

A fully equipped gym complements the hotel’s Spa which is branded by South Africa’s Theravine & Theranaka.

Conference facilities can cater for up to 100 participants at a time.

Notably does the resort enjoy a wide and long sandy beach, unlike some other hotels at this part of the coast, adding value to the guest experience when they stay at Silver Palm.

The resort can be reached by air via Malindi Airport – 55 kilometres away – or even faster with Safarilink’s daily flights to Vipingo Ridge which is only 35 kilometres from Silver Palm, unlike the 70 plus kilometre journey from Mombasa by those opting to come to the coast by SGR Madaraka Express or air to the international airport.

The vicinity to Vipingo Ridge in fact allows guests staying at the new resort to take advantage of special offers to play golf on a PGA ranked 18 hole course – the only one in the wider Eastern African region – for just 70 US Dollars for a round including lunch and caddy fees.
