Even on Christmas Eve do the bad news not stop

BREAKING NEWS ………

…..HAVE YOU BEEN MISINFORMED BY THE CITES SECRETARIAT?

27 Zim elephants to be exported to China The elephants, aged between 3 and 5 years, may be flown out of Victoria Falls by February. http://ewn.co.za/2014/12/24/27-Zim-elephants-to-be-exported-to-China (NA COMMENT: This is the exact opposite of what the CITES secretary general said only last week. How are we to believe anything else he says in defence of China?)

27 baby elephants to be exported to China extract Harare – Vets in Zimbabwe confirmed on Tuesday that rangers have captured 27 baby elephants in the western Hwange National Park ready for export to China. "There are 27 baby elephants there. One has died since capture," said Mel Hood of the independent Veterinarians for Animal Welfare (VAWZ). "They are all destined for China, these 27.”

(NA comment: On December 18, the CITES secretary general said “The CITES Management Authority of China has advised that it has not received any application to import elephants from Zimbabwe.”) http://cites.org/eng/zw_elephants

Did the Chinese CITES MA deceive the CITES secretariat, again? WE DESERVE AN EXPLANATION, DON’T WE?We have said, repeatedly, in the past, the CITES secretariat appears to always want to protect China, so what do you make of this latest development? http://www.news24.com/Green/News/27-baby-elephants-to-be-exported-to-China-20141223

WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE WOULD STEAL THIS BABY FROM ITS MOTHER TO STICK IN A ZOO – IN CHINA’S CASE, VERY BAD ZOOS? WHO ARE THESE EVIL PEOPLE?

From this in Africa to ………………………….this in China and approved by the Chinese CITES Management Authority.

THE GREAT ZIMBABWE LIE EXPOSED:

16th Dec. Kasukuwere said it was normal for wildlife to be captured in the country’s largest game reserve and exported "from time to time". But he denied reports that the animals were destined for Chinese zoos, saying they were headed to the UAE.

WHO ARE THE EVIL PEOPLE WHO PROFIT FROM THIS TRADE?

Is the CITES Secretariat too close to China?

Might this be why news reports critical of China are

STILL absent from the CITES web site?

(L-R) Head of China’s CITES MA greeting senior secretariat official

at the CITES Bangkok conference 2013.

The secretariat have defended China’s import of 145 great apes.

Last week the secretary general told us his Chinese CITES MA had no plans to

import baby elephants from China. (see above news reports)

And China, as we know, is the world’s largest importer of illegal wildlife.

It’s been this way for as long as we can remember.

Despite which, CHINA has not be sanctioned. Hmmnn.

Does this strike you as inexplicable, even suspicious?

INTERPOL go after and punish individual criminals,

while CITES appear to suck up to China, Vietnam, etc.

Whose side do you think CITES are on?

2012

CITES Secretary-General Mr John Scanlon presented the latest
certificates of commendation to Ms Yin Hong, Vice Administrator of State Forestry Administration and chair of the National Inter-
Agency CITES Enforcement Collaboration (NICECG) of China.

DO YOU HAVE ANY CONFIDENCE LEFT IN

THE CITES SECRETARIAT?

WE DON’T.

Are any of the parties to the convention, taking the secretariat

or their enforcement arm seriously? How does it look to you?

When it comes to CITES and its leadership

the biggest mistake you can make is to judge

either by its intentions, not its results.
