WTM LONDON PROVIDES THE STAGE FOR A TALK ABOUT AFRICA

(Posted 31st October 2018)

WTMInternational Travel & Tourism Awards

There has been much talk of the ‘African Century’, in which Africa realises its full economic, cultural and sporting potential. Yet rising unsustainable debt in many sub-Saharan countries is now a threat to progress. Meanwhile, tourism plays an essential and more often than not under-valued role in driving development, not least by projecting positive images of Africa and contributing significantly to economic and social regeneration.
What are the key obstacles and threats to further progress?
Where do growth opportunities lie?
What policies and actions are critical to ensuring success?

The presentations and following discussion on these issues will take place on Wednesday November 07th from 12.45 hrs – 13.30 hrs in the Africa zone at WTM.

Among the speakers are:

– Cathy Dean, Chief Executive, Save the Rhino
– David Frost, CEO, South African Tourist Services Association (SATSA)
– Belise Kariza, Chief Tourism Officer, Rwanda Development Board
– Moderator: Tom Buncle, TCN
