(Posted 22nd October 2015)

On the occasion of the 28th edition of the French Business Awards for Environment were the Palm Hotel & Spa ***** and the Iloha Seaview Hotel each awarded the grand prize of the category management and initiatives for sustainable development. This trophy rewards the performance of these hostels in environmental management and their ongoing investment in state of the art green technologies. Each year the Business Awards for Environment reward companies that, in the course of their business, have developed innovative and sustainable practices on the environment, maintaining local biodiversity and engage in sustainable development. The Environment Business Awards are organized by the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy and the Agency for Environment and Energy Management (ADEME) in France. For this 28th edition no less than 130 nominated candidates were competing in order to win one of the trophies among the five categories presented. Only thirteen companies or 10 percent of those in the competition were awarded by the juries either the Enterprise or Environment Prize. Among these were two of Reunion’s best known hotel establishments, the Palm Hotel & Spa ***** and the Iloha Seaview Hotel. Each of them won the grand prize of the category management and initiatives for sustainable development, for the creation of an environmental management system performance at the service aiming at improved protection of the environment, and more broadly for innovation in sustainable development. By winning this prestigious prize, the Palm Hotel & Spa ***** and Seaview Hotel Iloha confirm their status among Reunion’s tourism businesses as pioneers in field of environmental management, alongside leading international ‘green’companies.
