While confirming an adjustment in departure times for the three times a week service from Mahe to Johannesburg – times will shift from a 08.10 hrs ETD to 09.25 hrs ETD effective 01st November – has Air Seychelles also announced that a fourth weekly flight will operate on Tuesdays between the 15th of December and the 05th of January 2016.

The route is presently served every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday and the added flights reflect the rise in demand from the South African market for vacations on the paradise islands.

Roy Kinnear, the airline’s CEO, was quoted to have said as he made the announcement: ‘We are pleased to provide guests with four additional flights between Johannesburg and Seychelles during the busy end-of-year season to meet the strong travel demand from this important city. The new Tuesday services will add more than 1,000 seats on the route which, combined with our flights on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, offer guests more choice and convenience when travelling for their holidays over the busy Christmas and New Year period’.

The additional flight will according to additional information received be operated with an Airbus A320 in a two class configuration.

Meanwhile has the recently delivered Twin Otter DHC6-400 been fully integrated into the daily scheduled departures of domestic flights from Mahe to the second largest island of Praslin and on demand services to other islands after completing the commercial maiden flight to the island of Denis, after which the new aircraft has been named.
