ZANZIBAR’S MUSIC AND ART FESTIVAL SET FOR REVIVAL NEXT YEAR
(Posted 22nd April 2016)
The organizers of one of Africa’s foremost music and performing arts festivals, Sauti Za Busara, have given the clearest indication yet that after a gap year, due to lack of funding and sponsorships, this grand event will make a comeback in 2017.
Sauti Za Busara is regularly listed in the top five African events of this kind and regularly found in the top 20 of similar events around the globe and the failure to raise enough money for the 2016 festival left thousands of aficionados and fans hugely disappointed and Zanzibar’s tourism industry taking a dive when arrival numbers in February failed to reach those of previous years.
Today though has Sauti Za Busara called for nominations for the 2017 event by artists and performers, details available via their website link http://busaramusic.org/callforartists/2017/index.php with a deadline of 31st of July.
