Seychelles Foreign Minister launches Seychelles News Agency

SEYCHELLES NEWS AGENCY LAUNCHED AHEAD OF CARNIVAL FESTIVAL

(Posted 25th April 2014)

Just two days ahead of the launch of the Seychelles Carnival 2014 did the Seychelles government formally introduce their latest tool in the global PR contest to be seen, heard and read about when the website of the new agency went ‘live’ via www.seychellesnewsagency.com

The function was performed by the Seychelles’ Minister for Foreign Affairs Jean-Paul Adam, Maxim Behar, Consul of the Seychelles to Bulgaria, whose brainchild the newsagency was, Chief Press Secretary Srdjana Janosevic and the two editors Sharon Uranie and Rassin Vanier at the posh Kempinski Seychelles Resort as part of the biannual Consular and Ambassador Conference which also took place at the resort.

News, according to the President’s Chief Press Secretary Ms. Srdjana, will not be restricted to the archipelago but also cover relevant topics from neighbouring islands, other small island nations and from the African mainland, and contributions would be drawn from a wide range of sources to offer as broad and comprehensive a reporting line as possible. Tourism, business development, maritime issues as well as environmental topics will feature strongly among other news as chosen by the two editors.

It is hoped that this new outlet for information from and about the Seychelles will help to further popularize the archipelago as a favourite tourism and investment destination, where emphasis on both blue and green economies are in place to propel the country forward. It is expected that the now unfolding 4th edition of the Carnival International de Victoria will feature highly during the first week the News Agency is now in active mode.
