#Seychelles retains lead in #Africa with their Visa regime

AFRICAN DEVELOPMENT BANK’S VISA INDEX PUTS SEYCHELLES IN THE LEAD

(Posted 28th December 2018)

Given the hassles Africans have to go through to get Visa to other African countries is the decision by the Seychelles decades ago all the more remarkable, having waived Visa requirements for citizens of any country around the globe, largely of course to stimulate tourism.
That concept, among other marketing efforts, has worked out very well and albeit very slowly are other countries in Africa now copying the Seychelles recipe of success.
Benin waived Visa requirements while Rwanda and of late also Ethiopia have granted citizens of African Union member states Visa on arrival – of course not quite the same as requiring no Visa at all.
The AfDB index was first launched in 2016 and the Seychelles have continuously claimed the top spot.
The Seychelles, according to information received from the archipelago, also claimed top spot in the Mo Ibrahim Index of Governance and has been persistently ranked among the top five countries in Africa over Human Resource Development, Safety and Rule of Law.
